Stanley Ka Dabba

I have no idea why I feel compelled to write a movie review of a movie I saw last friday with friends, a situation brought on by Heartman, who felt it necessary for me to be spending time between people rather than being OMO.
It's getting addictive-akin to a drug- all this fall cushioning! When will he let me nurse my wounds? When? How many times does he expect to bandage me?
And why can't I be allowed to fall and heal as many times- till I learn that I must learn to make friends with Gravity, stay on the ground, watch the roads, notice the boulders and walk "around" them and not into them. Also, if u a see a cliff, abyss turn around- don't fall off- keep those peepers open!

Basics!  Heck- I never understood basics, and that's why precisely Blaise Pascal said- you always admire what you really don't understand.

Well, under the circumstances I doubt I can do justice to Stanley Ka Dabba...a film I saw in an average theater , filled with parents and kids at 22:45 - all seemingly excited despite the obvious bedtime issues.

While the movie does need a bit of tightening - it's made with an incredible amount of honesty and innocence. You know that the writer has felt every emotion , has captured a beautiful mind set (of the children) and made it so relatable that any one, absolutely any one, could relate to it.
What made me smile through out the watching of the movie - was the theater ambience itself...kids actually commenting, probably even living out the situation- it was like a movie made for them! Quiet a few were having active conversations with their folks during the movie about "khadoos", familiar friends and teachers- dabba experiences. It's was a rare feel.
And a good feel at that.

I really liked the movie- well mostly-from a critics point there were a few loose ends, but never mind those... It's just so heartwarming - and yes I did have tears at the end.

Go watch this- it's important that you do. Many thanks to Amole Gupte for this gem.
8/10 for me.
