Mall Walk |
For one I'm happy that the one day which does excruciatingly reminds you of your age- is now finally behind. The spots lights are off, so is the hangover wearing off, and everyones gone home; Except me of course- I'm where I shud be in somewhereville in a land called home. It's pleasant weather at somewhereville at the moment, so a good time to rest it out before the storm clouds gather for a thunderous jam session around 18:00hrs on this expectedly predictable Sunday.
Whoever thinks that Sundays are a relief, are gravely mistaken. Probably they are tone/tune/ deaf in general to Monday, which usually announces it's arrival or it's upcoming arrival 6 hours in advance when the soundless dirges begin....and that's pretty much when it starts to pour.
Can't comprehend? Just ask Heartman- he knows painfully well, my Sunday charade.

Well, for a change went for a stroll around a nearby mall, and as always was tired of seeing the endless choices and lack of any value...any consumable has the same story.
I walk into a popular book store and well- miles and piles of book abound, but never ever the ones I want. So I ask if I can order one thru their dial a book service, and I'm told of the month long wait for the same.
Bummer!
The children's section is/ was my favorite.....untill recently ofcourse. What's with all the stories from grimville? Dark genre is virtually everywhere- like either half the population is reading about vampires or stories from necropolis or something or the other on witches and warlocks- and this is not Harry Potter included.
I rarely see traditional writing- it's almost rare to find a decent Enid Blyton or any such.
Nonetheless, I did manage to scavenge some stuff- will review the Fobes Life mag soon, picked up some decent animation movies....so, so much for the mandatory spend.
But let me be honest really- my problem is social media, and I'm trying to detox a little. Which is really why I walked into a book store. FB and Twitter...I have absolutely nothing against them, except the fact that things especially like Twitter- are additive, some of my favorite "tweeple" are there - and I'm addicted to refreshing my phones often!
But the flip-side, the problem with social networking , 24/7 media and other such stimulated distractions is that they infallibly prevent us from living our own stories. Being constantly glued on to views and happenings all around us and, often an uncanny sense of life passing bay is felt.
So, I thot it would be a great idea to walk into a book store and get "intellectually stimulated" to read.
Hell no! All I see is Vampires and Witches, no shortage of those in real life and can't escape them now in prose.
"sucks" !
