Its the sheer fascination of it all worldwide...the first black US President and Husein as his middle name.
Wow!...he is almost seen as a messiah. I caught up with TV footage today ( you just could not miss it ...its every where)...and saw the tears in Rev Jesse Jackson's eyes...saw people almost chanting " Yes We Can". Its amazing, the amount of hope the next president is bringing in. Its colossal.
Over the past so many months as I sat watching the elections ( as I guess like most...hooked)...i could not but deduce that is one guy who is determined and certain...he is worldly wise and enormously composed. Did he see his calling? or were the other contenders ( both hid competing democrats and rival republicans) totally skewed in their own agenda?
His speech today was almost like " I have Dream"...will he live up to the " Change We Can Believe In? "
Well...that remains to be seen...its a long winding road ahead for him, but its an opportunity too , to change the image of the country...from prior Super Villain of the past few years to probably a Super Hero that it always thought itself to be.
Which makes me reflect on our own elections...which will come about soon...and I hope to live to see the day when they will be fought fairly and intellectually as they should be.
I would love to see the day, when the world eagerly awaits the election of our leader...and when can we bring such profound hope.
But for now , Its Barack's moment in History.
